The EU Contingent for the Medicine and Dentistry Degree Programmes

EU citizens and people accorded the same status, who do not have an Austrian secondary school leaving qualification constitute the second-largest place contingent at MedUni Vienna.

Admission Requirements for Applicants from the EU without an Austrian Secondary School Leaving Qualification

The so-called EU contingent is meant for EU citizens, who obtained their secondary school leaving qualification within or outside the EU, but not in Austria. This also applies to people, who may have Austrian citizenship, but who obtained their secondary school leaving qualification in Germany.

The check of the qualification for university entrance occurs during the personal admission to the university, after the results of the admission tests have been published.

Under certain circumstances supplementary examinations in Latin or Biology may be necessary, or proof of sufficient German skills may have to be produced.

Foreign documents can only be accepted and evaluated, if they have been officially legalised. More information on the types of legalisation can be found here in German or in English.

In addition, you can find here the information on the admission with an International or a European Baccalaureate. Information on studying in Austria with a British secondary school leaving qualification can be found here.

In case of foreign-language documents please always enclose a certified German or English translation and submit all your documents in the original (or certified copy).
