Research interests

My research focuses on investigating human IgE-associated immune responses to aeroallergens, with particular emphasis on the cellular mechanisms underlying allergic sensitization. Although IgE plays a central role in allergic disease, key aspects of its biology remain insufficiently understood, including the precise sites of IgE production and release. I am especially interested in the interactions between B cells, T cells, and tissue-specific microenvironments that drive and sustain IgE responses. By exploring these processes, my work aims to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of allergic inflammation and to support the development of improved diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Techniques, methods & infrastructure

Primary human cells are employed in in vitro culture systems to model allergic immune responses under controlled conditions. A central component is the use of multiparametric flow cytometry for the phenotypic and functional characterization of allergy-related immune cell populations. In addition, immunoassays, including ELISA-based approaches, are used to quantify IgE and other relevant immune mediators.
