Research group(s)
- Working Group Schlöglhofer - Mechanical Circulatory Support
Head: Thomas Schlöglhofer
Research Area: The interdisciplinary research group of Dr. Schlöglhofer focuses on innovative technologies and research approaches in the field of mechanical circulatory support systems (MCS). The goal is to enhance the safety, efficiency, and long-term compatibility of cardiac support systems such as left ventricular assist devices (LVAD) and Impella systems using state-of-the-art methods from engineering, medicine, and computer science.

Research interests
My main research focus is the application of human factors engineering to peripheral components of mechanical circulatory support systems, aiming to improve usability and patient quality-of-life while reducing risk of use-related errors.
Techniques, methods & infrastructure
A broad spectrum of techniques, including heuristic surveys and eye-tracking supported simulations, are applied to gain deeper insights into human machine interaction of different cohorts.
