Description

Our group brings together physicists, computer scientists and engineers in an effort to establish and validate clinical and research protocols using quantitative hybrid imaging technologies, such as PET/CT, PET/MRI and SPECT/CT.

Hybrid imaging modalities are considered hardware combinations of nuclear medicine and radiology imaging systems aiming at:

  • Better co-localization of functional/metabolic data in an anatomical framework.
  • Improved clinical workflow and logistics.
  • The use of either image information for improving the quality and accuracy of the conjoined imaging modality.

Research

The current research activities of our lab are geared towards:

  • Quantitative, combined imaging (PET/CT, PET/MR, SPECT/CT)
  • Supporting clinical adoption of fully integrated PET/MRI
  • Image-based phenotyping and texture analysis
