Transmembrane protein CD361 (EVI2B) – a new functional player in hematopoietic stem- and progenitor cells
Vaclav Hořejší studied biochemistry at the Faculty of Sciences, Charles University, Prague. He was (2005-2017) the director of the Institute of Molecular Genetics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague and head of the laboratory of Molecular Immunology at this Institute. He is also professor of immunology at the Charles University, Prague. He is well known for his research on biochemistry and immunological activities of lectins, affinity methods of protein isolation and characterization including development of the method of affinity electrophoresis, identification and molecular characterization of a number of leukocyte surface proteins including CD14, CD48, CD53, CD59, CD87, CD108, CD361, MHC class I, MHC class II, plasma membrane microdomains (membrane rafts, tetraspanin microdomains) and their role in immunoreceptor signaling, transmembrane adaptor proteins including LAT, PAG, NTAL, LIME, LST1, PRR7, SCIMP.
His work is published in over 200 research papers and reviews, which received
over 10,000 citations resulting in an h-factor of 56.
