 \n Attila Kiss\n\nBackground\n\nBurkhard Ludewig graduated from the Facult
 y of Veterinary Medicine at the Free University of Berlin in 1992 and rece
 ived my doctorate in veterinary medicine in 1995. After two short postdoct
 oral positions at the Robert Koch Institute and the Hebrew University of J
 erusalem\, he joined the Institute of Experimental Immunology at the Unive
 rsity of Zurich. Since 2002\, he has been head of the Medical Research Cen
 ter at the Cantonal Hospital St. Gallen\, Switzerland\, and since 2021\, h
 ead of the Translational Cardioimmunology Unit at the University Hospital 
 Zurich\, Switzerland. His research focuses on the interaction of stromal c
 ells with innate and adaptive immune cells. His group has established prec
 linical models to study stromal cell function and has developed TCR transg
 enic mouse models to study viral infection and autoimmune myocarditis. The
 ir clinical research programs are focused on myocardial inflammatory disea
 ses\, lung cancer and HPV-associated tonsillar carcinoma.
