Univ. Prof. Dr. Reinhard Windhager is being given the Professorship of Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Surgery at MedUni Vienna. At the same time, Windhager is taking over the management of the Department of Orthopaedics.
On the occasion of the International Women’s Day 2010, MedUni Vienna invited a top-notch round of speakers to the Art Nouveau Lecture Hall – also Federal Minister Beatrix Karl was among the panel participants.
Scientists from the laboratory headed by Veronika Sexl at the Institute of Pharmacology of MedUni Vienna have uncovered a key to the successful treatment of leukaemia. The study about the transcription factor Stat5 was published in “EMBO Molecular Medicine”.
With three newly-created professorships, the Medical University of Vienna is extending the research and teaching competence of its research clusters: Siegfried Trattnig is being given the new Professorship of Radiology specialising in high-field MR, Harald Sitte that of Psychopharmacology, and Berthold Streubel is the Professor of Cytogenetics. All three experts have already used their know-how and innovation so far for the benefit of MedUni Vienna.
On 18 February 2010 the "Education" section was revised and integrated in the existing web CD layout. This relaunch is another important step towards standardising the Medical University of Vienna website.
