Biochemical properties

Eukaryotic serine/threonine as well as tyrosine protein kinases belong to a very extensive family of proteins which share a conserved catalytic domain [1].

Allergens from this family

Sal k 2 from Russian thistle (Salsola kali) pollen contains a protein kinase domain. Its allergenic significance is unknown.
