Propedeutics

Propedeutics

Propedeutics comprise a choice of groundbreaking medical and basic courses, which are the same for all doctoral programs implemented at the Medical University. Six semester hours are obligatory and have to be completed by the end of the 4th semester.

Two courses, „Ethic and Good Scientific Practice” and “Project Management and Intellectual Property Rights” (1 Semester hour each), are compulsory. The four remaining semester hours can be chosen from a pool of courses listed on the homepage of the Medical University as well as on the registration forms.

The course "Molecular and Cell Biology for Medics" supplements medical education, whereas the courses "Medical Propedeutics I & II" are aimed at students who have not previously studied medicine.

In addition, within the program Neuroscience we recommend studying as much statistic as possible. It is an advantage that our PhD students are well educated in statistical questions, and are familiar with SPSS (Medical Biostatistics I & II). Although you should not indicate to attend more lectures than required when submitting your application forms, most of the PhD-students in our program attend more propedeutics lectures during their PhD studies.
