Journal Club

The journal club is organised on a rotational basis by one of the departments at the Center for Brain research or at a participating institution. By rotating the Department responsible for the Journal Club each semester also the thematic area does change due to the expertise of the department. The students present selected papers and in most cases one patent concerning the respective fields. Thus, for one semester the students dive into a specific topic of modern neuroscience (e.g. Imaging techniques) and this will allows the students to get a detailed knowledge and understanding of very different techniques in modern neuroscience.
Different departments are free to modify to the format of the journal club within reason. For example the department of Neuroimmunology once selected pairs of excellent published papers that demonstrate the total opposite results to each other.
