Include only IUIS approved allergens.

Biochemical properties

This family consists of several insect specific proteins. Members of this family are commonly found in cockroaches, fruit flies and mosquitos. It has been suggested that the repeat sequences have evolved by duplication of an ancestral amino acid domain, which may have arisen from the mitochondrial energy transfer proteins [1].

Allergens from this family

Bla g 1 and Per a 1 are major, cross-reactive allergens from German and American cockroach, respectively [1].
