Biochemical properties

This family consists of several fungal chitosanase enzymes. Chitin, xylan, 6-O-sulphated chitosan and O-carboxymethyl chitin are indigestible by chitosanase.

Allergens from this family

A chitosanase from the mould Aspergillus fumigatus was identified as IgE-reactive [1].
