Every semester, the doctoral students present their work.
In the winter semester, the “Work in Progress” is organised as a two day PhD-congress, with the participation of all PhD-students in the program Neuroscience and the scientific staff of the Center for Brain Research and associated program partners. The students present their work in short talks and defend and discuss their work in the question and answer session after their talk. All presentations and the discussion are evaluated by the conference participants. The Retreat “Work in Progress” occasionally also take place abroad such as in 2022 and 2023 at the “Burg Plankenstein”.
In the summer semester, we encourage the active (oral or poster presentation) participation at PhD-symposium at the MedUni Vienna organized by the Young Scientist Association (YSA) of the Medical University of Vienna.
Such regular, critical review of the student’s research by the multi-disciplinary background of the attending scientists at these sessions ensures optimised strategies and guidance for the student’s ongoing research.
