Vaccination protection for stays abroad

Please observe the current regulations on infection protection when selecting the host organisation.

UPDATED:

Please note the current vaccination information on Mpox:

  • Institute of Specific Prophylaxis and Tropical Medicine at MedUni Vienna:
Before planned clinical traineeships, CPY stays, medical assignments in Mpox outbreak areas, the need for a prophylactic Mpox vaccination is also clarified in the course of travel medical care and, if necessary, the vaccination is offered/administered in the vaccination outpatient clinic at Kinderspitalgasse 15. In addition to the vaccination centre, the vaccination service  of Vienna Health Service MA 15 also offers vaccination appointments.

  • City of Vienna Health Service MA 15:
    • Registration for pre-exposure Mpox vaccination via 1450 (only
applies in Vienna, information on other federal states can be found on the Mpox page of the Ministry of Social Affairs). If no more appointments are available in time, the urgency must be pointed out; the Infection Prevention Group will then be informed and can facilitate a vaccination.
    • Post-exposure prophylaxis in the event of contact with a person infected withMpox/suspected case: If contact has been made with a person infected with Mpox, contact the City Health Office Mon - Fri 7:30 - 15:30 on 01 4000 87800.
  • Vaccination on site:
Anyone who is already staying in these risk areas unvaccinated as part of a clinical traineeship, CPY or for medical duties and is still on site for a longer period of time should also be able to receive a vaccination on site.

Find out about risk areas in good time and use the current information on the relevant websites!
