(Vienna, 19 October 2010) Echocardiography cannot be learned successfully by using motionless pictures. Therefore Ao. Univ. Prof. Dr. Thomas Binder (Department of Medicine II) and Dr. Franz Wiesbauer have placed a complete echocardiography video course online.
The course mainly addresses internists and cardiologists as well as interested students. The course comprises over 30 hours of educational videos, examination demonstrations, an echocardiography atlas as well as an "educational game". The 22 chapters will give users comprehensive knowledge about the methodology, fields of application as well as theoretical backgrounds of echocardiography and cardiology. A wealth of case studies helps to deepen the relevant knowledge.
The course has been approved by the Academy of Physicians (DFP further training points).
