Wolf-Dieter Baumgartner becomes honorary member of the Austrian Society for Oto-Rhino-Laryngology

(Innsbruck, 29 September 2021) Wolf-Dieter Baumgartner, an expert in hearing implants at the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases at MedUni Vienna/Vienna General Hospital, has been appointed an honorary member of the Austrian Society for Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. Baumgartner was presented with his certificate at this year's Society congress in Innsbruck.

The Austrian Society for Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Head and Neck Surgery promotes the scientific and practical interests of this specialty. Its tasks are to maintain the unity of the specialty, to cooperate with neighbouring medical disciplines and foreign medical societies, to safeguard the professional and practical interests of its members and to maintain and organise continuing and advanced education in the specialty.

About Wolf-Dieter Baumgartner
Wolf-Dieter Baumgartner, born in Vienna in 1967, is a specialist in ear, nose and throat diseases and managing Senior Doctor at the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases at MedUni Vienna/Vienna General Hospital. He has worked at the Vienna department since 1992. He has held a chair in otology and cochlear implants at the Karolinska University Stockholm since May 2012. He is visiting lecturer at Rudolfinerhaus University Campus Vienna and a member of the university division of Vienna Medical Association. He has been President of the HEARRING Group since 2017. He is President-elect of the Collegium Oto-Rhino-Laryngologicum Amicitiae Sacrum.
Baumgartner has published 129 original papers (Hirsch factor 32), has more than 750 other publications to his name and has already delivered more than 1,200 lectures at home and abroad.
