(Vienna, 17 November 2023) At a ceremony in the Archbishop's Palace in Vienna on 11 November 2023, the Archdiocese of Vienna awarded the Cardinal Innitzer Prizes. Several MedUni Vienna members were among the prize winners.

The science prize, named after Vienna Archbishop Cardinal Theodor Innitzer (1875-1955), has been awarded by the Archdiocese of Vienna since 1962 and is supported by the Ministry of Science, several federal provinces, banks, insurance companies and the Chamber of Commerce. In addition to the Grand Prize for a life's work, prizes are awarded in the categories of humanities and social sciences/law, natural sciences/medicine and journalism, as well as promotion prizes for young Austrian scientists.
