(Vienna, 16 November 2023) Richard Pötter, former Head and Professor Emeritus of the Department of Radiation Oncology and pioneer in brachytherapy, has been awarded honorary membership of the American College of Radiology (ACR) in Washington DC as a Fellow of ACR (FACR). This honour is awarded for exceptional achievements in radiology.

Richard Pötter is internationally renowned for his work in the treatment of gynaecological cancers, in particular for the new adaptive targeting concepts for cervical cancer and the ground-breaking EMBRACE studies. Although he is now retired, Richard Pötter continues to pursue his research interests and is committed to ensuring that the results of the international EMBRACE project continue to improve clinical practice worldwide.
