(Vienna, 27-04-2026) During the Long Night of Research on Friday, 24 April, MedUni Vienna’s attractions drew in around 13,800 visitors. More than 200 stations were set up across a total of 15 locations along the Medical Research Mile.

Visitors immersed themselves in the fascination of pioneering research and innovative developments, learnt about state-of-the-art treatment and examination methods, and were even able to try some of them out for themselves. Highlights included insights into live operations, exciting stations on brain research, and applications from digital dentistry.

The Medical Research Mile was kicked off by bestselling author Thomas Brezina, who at 4 pm – an hour before the official start – offered insights into his book “What Your Body Would Say If It Could Speak”. The nationwide launch of the Long Night of Research then took place together with more than 450 participating organisations.

Long Night of Research also a resounding success across Austria
At the twelfth edition of the Long Night of Research, around 192,000 interested visitors across Austria took advantage of the diverse programme at more than 300 venues. Over 3,000 stations featuring guided tours, workshops, lectures, live presentations and experiments brought research to life in a vivid and accessible way.

The Long Night of Research takes place every two years throughout Austria.
