It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of our dear colleague Dr. Gundula Reichel from the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine. Following her internship, Dr. Reichel spent her entire career at the Medical University of Vienna. Her clinical work focused on paediatric and trauma anaesthesiology.She was an outstanding and extremely committed anaesthetist who was completely dedicated to her patients and always willing to go the extra mile. In addition to this, Dr. Reichel was a doctor who was open to questions and was always available when colleagues needed support. She was particularly committed to training junior doctors and students in their clinical internship year. In this context, she was also a central member of our simulation team.For this, for her humanity and her zest for life we owe her a great debt of gratitude.She will be sadly missed in the clinic and by all of us on a personal level.
