MedUni Vienna in 162nd place in the international National Taiwan University Ranking

Ranked 69th among world's best "Medical Schools"

(Vienna, 01 August 2022) The Medical University of Vienna moved up to 162nd place (2021: 189th) in the international National Taiwan University Ranking (NTU Ranking) of the world's best universities, which was published today. It also made significant strides in the research-based rankings in the fields of "Medicine" (from 81 to 69) and "Life Sciences" (from 131 to 106). The Medical University of Vienna also improved in various "Subject" categories.

In the "Overall" category, MedUni Vienna shot up 27 places compared to the previous year (2021: 189) to take 162nd place. This makes it the highest-ranking university in Austria.
In the "Medicine" category of the world's best "Medical Schools", MedUni Vienna climbed to 69th place (2021: 89).

MedUni Vienna also improved in the "Life Sciences" category and is now in 106th place (2021: 131).

MedUni Vienna likewise moved up in individual "Subject" rankings: from 83 to 56 in "Immunology", from 75 to 62 in "Clinical Medicine" and from 92 to 90 in "Neuroscience and Behaviour".

The ranking system, which is also known as the "Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities", has been measuring the research performance of universities since 2007, using the criterion of scientific publications ("Research productivity", "Research impact" and "Research excellence").
