Together with its university hospital, Vienna General Hospital, the Medical University of Vienna forms a district of its own that defines the cityscape. Viennese photographer Stefan Oláh captures this built substance from almost 250 years in the illustrated book "Architecture for Medicine - A Cultural History of the Medical University of Vienna and Vienna General Hospital".

Oláh takes a look behind the scenes at MedUni Vienna and Vienna General Hospital, showing not only the impressive architecture but also operating theatres, medication robots, disinfection lines, phantom rooms and much more. The series of images is complemented by a cultural studies essay on the subject by Ulrike Matzer.
The illustrated book is now available in the MedUni Shop.
