We get on our bikes and not only promote our own health, but also protect our wallets and the environment. We also want to make MedUni Vienna the most ‘active cycling’ university in Austria.
More than 1,260 employers, 720 municipalities, 370 associations and 150 educational institutions cycled over 34 million kilometres together in 2024 as part of the ‘Austria Cycles’ campaign and cycled the equivalent of 850 times around the world. This means that almost six million kilograms of CO2 were saved by cycling, which replaced potential car journeys.
191 employees and students of the Medical University of Vienna contributed 110,622 kilometres to this total, making MedUni Vienna the most active newcomer among Austria's educational institutions.
MedUni Vienna is taking part again this year and is calling on all staff and students to pedal for their university.
