(Vienna, 30 January 2023) The University Council of MedUni Vienna has bid farewell to three of its previous members at the end of their current term of office. Brigitte Ettl, Irene Virgolini and Reinhart Waneck are leaving at the end of their term of office.
Brigitte Ettl, Irene Virgolini and Reinhart Waneck were recognised for their services to MedUni Vienna within the scope of their function.
Along with the Senate, the University Council is a central governing body of the University. Two members each of the University Council are appointed by the Senate of the Medical University of Vienna and the Federal Government. A fifth member is elected by the four members of the University Council. Their term of office is five years. This quintet then also elects a chairperson of the University Council.
The new University Council begins its work with a constituent meeting in March. The fifth member of the Council and the chairperson will be elected at this meeting.
