(Vienna, 14 January 2026) The trade magazine Österreichs Journalist:in has awarded Johannes Angerer and the corporate communications team at the Medical University of Vienna second place in the "Science" category and 15th place in the overall ranking of all categories in this year's Corporate Spokesperson of the Year awards.
As part of the annual industry survey conducted by the trade magazine Österreichs Journalist:in, Austria's best communications managers and teams were once again honoured this year. The award is based on a survey of journalists and media representatives who evaluate the quality, reliability and professionalism of the collaboration.
In the Science category, Johannes Angerer, Head of Corporate Communications at the Medical University of Vienna, and his team took second place – behind the overall winner Markus Kiesenhofer from the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO). In addition, MedUni Vienna achieved 15th place in the overall ranking of all categories, once again making it one of the most visible and highly rated communications departments in the country.

Johannes Angerer has been Head of Corporate Communications at MedUni Vienna since 2011, and since 2016, the university's press spokesman has also been Managing Director of the Alumni Club. The communications expert is also Vice-President of the Public Relations Association Austria (PRVA) and a board member of UniPR, the official association of communications managers at Austrian universities and universities of applied sciences.
