World Doctors Orchestra receives Red Arrow Award

(Vienna, 26 January 2026) The internationally renowned World Doctors Orchestra was presented with the Red Arrow Award at the Speakers' Reception and Dinner of the 23rd Vienna Congress com·sult at the Josephinum of MedUni Vienna. The award was presented by Jacqueline Kitulu, President of the World Medical Association (WMA), together with Markus Müller, Rector of MedUni Vienna.

 

The Red Arrow Award recognises outstanding contributions with a visionary influence in science, society and culture – an accolade that underlines the WDO's extraordinary combination of professional medicine and musical excellence.

The World Doctors Orchestra was founded in 2008 and consists exclusively of doctors from all over the world who combine their passion for music with their humanitarian commitment. Every year, around 100 medical professionals from over 60 nations come together for intensive rehearsals to give charity concerts – the proceeds of which go to selected medical aid organisations. Since its foundation, the orchestra has given numerous concert sessions worldwide, raising millions of euros for medical charities. The orchestra is currently performing in Vienna.
