Sanofi Aventis Foundation prizes for three MedUni Vienna researchers

Thirteen outstanding young Austrian scientists receive awards

(Innsbruck/Vienna, 09 November 2018) This year's "Sanofi Prizes for the Promotion of Medical Research in Austria" (Sanofi Research Prizes) were presented at the Medical University of Innsbruck on 08 November 2018 to thirteen outstanding young scientists from the medical universities of Vienna, Graz and Innsbruck and the Paracelsus Private Medical University in Salzburg. Three of the awards went to young researchers from MedUni Vienna.

Sanofi research prizes went to Monika Linke (Institute of Medical Genetics), Anne Miller and Dimitrios Tsiantoulas (both from the Division of Medical-Chemical Laboratory Diagnostics). Linke for her paper entitled "Chronic signaling via the metabolic checkpoint kinase mTORC1 induces macrophage granuloma formation and marks sarcoidosis progression"; Miller for "Exploring Metabolic Configurations of Single Cells within Complex Tissue Microenvironments" and Tsiantoulas for "BAFF Neutralization Aggravates Atherosclerosis".
