MedUni Vienna sponsors “Integration Day” for the benefit of CARITAS refugee aid

The day culminates in a Vienna Symphonic concert in St. Stephen’s Cathedral, donations going to refugee aid.

(Vienna, 18 November 2015) On Saturday 5 December 2015 the Archdiocese of Vienna is staging an "Integration Day" as part of its current focus on refugee aid. The day is being sponsored by the Medical University of Vienna. Rector Markus Müller is a member of the honorary committee for the event.

The social highlight of this pre-Christmas day in the Cardinal König House (1130 Vienna, Kardinal-König-Platz, 9:30 – 16:30 hrs) is the Vienna Symphonic concert in St Stephen's Cathedral (18:00 hours) – which is by way of a thank you to the many voluntary helpers. All takings will be donated to Caritas refugee aid.

The Archdiocese of Vienna is staging the Integration Day for the very first time in order boost the spirits of those involved in the integration of refugees, to provide expert knowledge for all stages of integration and to provide useful contacts. In addition to specialist talks about the current situation in Austria and the Middle East, there are also interactive workshops and panel discussions with people who are affected.

"MedUni Vienna is delighted to support this worthwhile venture, and many others relating to refugee aid, by offering courses for asylum seekers at our university or medical support in refugee camps. We want to help the refugees in their difficult circumstances and to do what we can to alleviate human suffering," says Rector Markus Müller.
