Cancer can affect anyone. For those diagnosed and their immediate loved ones, the diagnosis often changes everything. The disease also poses a major challenge for our healthcare system. That is why comprehensive efforts are needed in the fight against cancer. One such effort is the Cancer Research Initiative at MedUni Vienna, which has been launching research projects since 2005.
Your donation saves lives
The funds raised by the Cancer Research Initiative through donations and activities such as the Cancer Research Run are used to provide seed funding for innovative, translational cancer research projects. These projects are primarily carried out by young, promising scientists working at the clinics and institutes of the Medical University of Vienna.
The successes of the Cancer Research Initiative enable the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) at MedUni Vienna and Vienna General Hospital (AKH) to issue calls for research grants in the field of malignant diseases every two years. A high-caliber, international jury reviews the submitted projects and selects the best ones for funding.
