(Vienna, 04 November 2025) Author Thomas Brezina presented his new book "What your body would say if it could talk" to more than 100 schoolchildren at Vienna City Hall today. The presentation took place as part of a health initiative launched by MedUni Vienna in collaboration with Thomas Brezina.
The aim of the initiative is to promote health awareness and give children and young people a simple but sound understanding of how their bodies work. As part of the health initiative, the book was presented to selected school classes for the first time. This book gives pupils in the 4th grade of primary school and the 1st grade of secondary school the opportunity to develop a better understanding of their bodies in a creative way.
Together with author Thomas Brezina, Markus Müller, Rector of the Medical University of Vienna, and Vienna's Mayor Michael Ludwig presented the book to the young audience. "Knowledge is an important foundation for health," said Rector Markus Müller. "This book succeeds in conveying this knowledge to young people in an entertaining way. For children, but also for adults, it is always exciting to remember the 'miracle of the human being' – created from a single cell. The principle of prevention, of preventing diseases before they arise, is also excellently presented."
Michael Fischer, Head of the Institute of Physiology at MedUni Vienna, supported the scientific validity of the project and checked the book for the accuracy of the medical facts.
About the book
In "What Your Body Would Say If It Could Talk", the organs and systems of the body provide insights into their needs and signals in a humorous and educational way. If our bodies could talk, the heart would ask for rest, the lungs for fresh air and the skin for proper sun protection. Emotional stress and our body's cues on how to listen to it better and take care of it are also discussed. The book is a tool for parents, teachers and, above all, children who want to learn how to listen to their body's signals.
