As a small thank you to those who are already improving MedUni Vienna's carbon footprint by choosing sustainable modes of transport and participating in the MedUni Cycles campaign, MedUni Vienna will once again be offering free bicycle services in 2026.
The company velo peaches will collect the bicycles in front of the Rectorate building and carry out the following checks and services on all registered bicycles: Checking screws and bearings, cleaning and oiling the chain, cleaning, oiling, and adjusting the derailleur/front derailleur, and adjusting the brakes. In addition, minor repairs, such as replacing brake pads or brake cables, will also be carried out free of charge. A cost estimate can be provided for more extensive repairs.
There will also be an opportunity to purchase bicycle accessories on site. Light sets, bells, reflectors, spoke reflectors, bicycle tools (multi-tools), repair kits, mini pumps, and inner tubes will be available.
Please allow some time for dropping off and picking up your bike.
Only one bike per person can be dropped off for servicing.
A total of 55 bikes will be accepted for servicing. Please understand that once the number of 55 bikes has been reached, no further bikes can be accepted for servicing.
MedUni Vienna cycles
In 2026, MedUni Vienna will once again be taking part in the “Austria cycles” cycling challenge, in which it covered a total of 110,622 km in 2024, making it the best newcomer among the participating universities.
The Ministry of Climate Protection and all federal states want to use this campaign to encourage people to use their bikes more in everyday life. Almost 44,000 cyclists took part in the challenge in 2025 and covered more than 37 million kilometers.
MedUni Vienna is calling on all employees and students to pedal for their university. Registration is open on an ongoing basis.
