The aim of this symposium is to facilitate discussions of common features, recent changes and future challenges in qualitative research and patient reported outcomes – such as new methodological approaches, innovative methods, sampling techniques, theoretical integration and rigor and accuracy. This symposium will bring together clinicians, researchers and students to share, discuss, and examine a wide range of issues related to qualitative research. We will focus on qualitative research, patient reported outcome measures and on fostering an interdisciplinary dialogue. We will further discuss the development of a “Qualitative Methods and Patient Reported Outcomes Forum” at the Medical University of Vienna.
