Content of the Admission Tests, MedAT-H and MedAT-Z
The admission test for Human Medicine (MedAT-H) is a multipart, written procedure and is divided into the following sections:

  • Basic knowledge test, medical studies: Assessment of previous school knowledge in biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics.
  • Text comprehension: Assessment of reading competence and text comprehension.
  • Cognitive abilities and skills: This part of the test consists of five groups of tasks (assembling figures, number sequences, word-fluency, memory and retentiveness, as well as recognising implications), and measures basic cognitive abilities and skills.
  • Social and emotional competence: This part of the test consists of the task groups of regulating emotions, recognising emotions, and social decision-making which encompass essential aspects of social and emotional competence.

The admission test for Dentistry (MedAT-Z) is largely identical to the MedAT-H. However, instead of the text comprehension test and the recognising implications task group, wire-bending and mirroring shapes are used in the manual skills test section.
