In loving memory of our courageous and dedicated colleague Andjela Bäwert

It is with deep sadness and great respect that we remember our dear colleague Andjela Bäwert, who left us far too early after a long and serious illness. She was not only a valued colleague, but also an admirable woman in many ways.

Andjela Bäwert was born in Zagreb on 4 August 1973. She completed her medical studies at the Medical Faculty of Vienna, and already during her studies she worked very dedicatedly as a research assistant at the drug outpatient department of the University Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy in Vienna. She received her doctorate in 2003 and has since been employed as an assistant doctor at the University Hospital for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Vienna. In 2005, 2007 and 2008 her children Viktoria, Max and Magdalena were born. In 2015 she moved to the Department of Medical Education and Training, now the Teaching Center at MedUni Vienna. Since 2015, she has been Head of the Assessment & Skills Department there. In 2016 she also passed her specialist examination in psychiatry. Andjela Bäwert was an extremely conscientious, independent colleague who led this large department with exemplary commitment and, with her optimistic, life-affirming manner, was not only able to motivate colleagues well, but was also always able to provide helpful support when problems arose.

Her zeal for work and her collegiality are only part of her remarkable personality. Andjela Bäwert's role as a mother, in which she found incomparable fulfilment, was particularly impressive. Her children were her greatest pride and she invested all her strength and time to give them a happy life.

Despite the enormous stresses and challenges of battling a serious illness, she was undaunted and faced the blow of fate with iron courage as well as unwavering will.

Her irrepressible faith in life inspires us to courageously overcome all obstacles and to enjoy the opportunities that life offers us to the fullest. May she rest in eternal peace. and may the darkness surrounding her children, her husband, her mother and all mourners be illuminated by Andjela Bäwert's light.

We will deeply miss and never forget our dear and brave colleague.
