Doris-Maria Denk-Linnert becomes honorary member of the Austrian Society of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology

(Vienna, 19 October 2017) Doris-Maria Denk-Linnert, interim Head of the Division of Speech and Language Therapy at the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases, MedUni Vienna/Vienna General Hospital, was awarded honorary membership of the society by president Peter Franz at the Annual Meeting of the Austrian Society of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, held in the Hofburg Congress Center, Vienna.

Doris-Maria Denk-Linnert is an ENT consultant with additional training in voice and speech disorders (phoniatrics). She wrote her doctoral thesis on “Functional rehabilitation following treatment for head and neck malignancies”. She is interim Head of the Division of Speech and Language Therapy at the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases of MedUni Vienna/Vienna General Hospital.

She specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of swallowing difficulties (the ENT Department in Vienna has led the way by introducing this specialism in Austria), rehabilitation following head and neck cancer operations with particular emphasis on oropharyngeal dysphagia, the diagnosis and treatment of voice disorders, phonosurgery, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of laryngeal breathing problems in infants.

She not only teaches at MedUni Vienna, but also at the University of Applied Sciences Vienna Campus, the Ecclesiastical Teacher Training College in Strebersdorf and at Vienna Neustadt University of Applied Sciences. She sits on the Ethics Committee of the Medical University of Vienna.
