(Vienna, 08 March 2017) The Medical University of Viennashares joint position 51 – 100 in the "Medicine" category in the latest "QS World University Ranking by Subject", which was published on 7 March 2017. It has therefore maintained its position from the previous years. In 2015, MedUni Vienna moved up from position 101 – 150.
MedUni Vienna achieved its highest score in the evaluation of "Citations per paper" (91.7), followed by the H-index for citations (84.5) and academic reputation (74.4).
The QS ranking is based on citation frequency and a survey of around 126,000 academics and employers throughout the world about academic reputation and employability of graduates. The evaluation is based on a total of 42 special categories. Top of the ranking for medical degrees is Harvard University, closely followed by the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge.
