Harald Sitte is the new Senate chairman at the MedUni Vienna

(Vienna, 03/12/2018) Harald Sitte was elected the new chairman during the recent meeting of the Senate at the MedUni Vienna. The pharmacologist will be heading up the important executive committee at the university until the term of office draws to a close at the end of September 2019.

The Senate is made up of 13 representatives from among the University’s professors, 6 representatives of university teaching and research staff, one representative of the general university staff and 6 student representatives, appointed in accordance with § 25 UG 2002 through election or dispatch (students). The fifth term of office commenced on 01/10/2016 and will run until 30/09/2019.

Personal details
Harald Sitte is a professor of pharmacology at the Institute of Pharmacology of the MedUni Vienna, and his research focuses are neurotransmitter transporters and G protein-coupled receptors. He was the curriculum director of the dentistry course and is presently the chairman of the curriculum commission for human medicine. He has held the role of president of the Alumni Club of the MedUni Vienna since 2014. He founded the Center for Addiction Research (AddRes), which has been dedicated to research and information in the field of drugs and addictive substances since 2014.
