Christine Radtke appointed member of the Sunderland Society

(Vienna, 30 July 2018) Christine Radtke, Head of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at MedUni Vienna/Vienna General Hospital, has been admitted into the prestigious Sunderland Society.

The society was founded by Australian neurosurgeon Sir Sydney Sunderland in 1980 to create an international platform for experts in the field of nerve reconstruction to exchange clinical expertise and scientific knowledge. One of its founding members was Hanno Millesi, Viennese pioneer of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Membership of the Sunderland Society is highly selective and it has no more than 100 members.

About Christine Radtke
Christine Radtke has been Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at MedUni Vienna since 1 October 2017 and heads up the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Department of Surgery of MedUni Vienna/Vienna General Hospital. Christine Radtke's main clinical interests include reconstructive surgery following cancer, functional recovery and neurosurgery. Her main scientific focus is on nerve regeneration, stem cell therapy and tissue engineering. Radtke completed her medical studies in Hanover and spent student placements at the US universities of Yale and Harvard. She has received many international awards and has been President of the European Plastic Surgery Research Council since 2015.
