(Vienna, 04 March 2019) Thomas Beyer, Professor of "Physics of Medical Imaging" at MedUni Vienna's Center for Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering was welcomed into the European Academy of Sciences ("Medicine" division) at a ceremony in Salzburg.

The European Academy of Sciences and Arts is an academic forum that addresses topics relevant to Europe on an interdisciplinary and transnational basis. It has around 2,000 members from around the world. It's members are recognised leading scientists, including 32 Nobel Prize winners. People cannot apply for membership themselves but are nominated by a selection committee and chosen by the Academy's Senate e.g. on the basis of services to research and society. For those selected, membership is therefore an honour and a recognition of their scientific work.
