ÖSV Charity Auction for MedUni Vienna enters the next phase

Directly support the medicine of the futureOver the next few years, MedUni Vienna will be playing a pioneering role in digital, personalised, precision medicine, so that currently incurable diseases will be curable in the future. With this in mind, it is building the Center for Precision Medicine on the MedUni General Hospital Campus. The proceeds from the auction will go directly towards construction of this centre. The Dorotheum is generously waiving its commission and other auction fees during the auction weeks and will handle all aspects of the online auction. The items will be available for viewing in the foyer of the Dorotheum in Vienna's first district during the relevant auction week. Anyone can take part in the online auction by registering at: www.dorotheum.com/onlineauctions. The reserve price for each auction item is €50. 1. Registration: In a first step, potential bidders in the auction must register as a myDOROTHEUM-User at: www.dorotheum.com. As soon as the Dorotheum has activated your user account, you are able to take part in the auction.
2. Viewing: The auction items can be viewed at: www.dorotheum.com/onlineauctions.  The items will also be on display in the foyer of the Palais Dorotheum for the duration of the auction.
3. Bidding: Your bid will be placed immediately. You will be notified if there is already another higher bid or if you are outbid.
4. Commission and payment: Once the auction has ended, the successful bidder will be informed of the outcome by email. No fees or commission will be charged for this charity auction. The Dorotheum is foregoing its commission in aid of this good cause. Payment should be made directly to the Medical University of Vienna's account in favour of the Center for Precision Medicine.
5. Collection: By prior agreement with the Dorotheum and after payment has been made, the auctioned items can be collected from the Palais Dorotheum, Dorotheergasse 17, 1010 Vienna.

Precision medicine – medicine of the future
Precision medicine offers an opportunity for better healthcare.
Precision medicine is based on modern diagnostic techniques, such as genome sequencing and molecular imaging. It will allow patients to be treated in an even more targeted and individual way in the future and will help to identify the cause of the disease at a molecular level.
In the Center for Precision Medicine, clinicians and basic researchers will be working together in close proximity to Vienna General Hospital to develop the very latest knowledge, thereby ensuring that patients are always treated using state-of-the-art medicine. The aim of the new Center is to produce research results more quickly for the benefit of patients with serious illnesses.
The planned Center for Precision Medicine, which is to be built on the MedUni Vienna General Hospital Campus is being funded by external funding, sponsors and donors. Construction of the new Center is scheduled to start from 2022 onwards.
