Richard Crevenna becomes member of the European Academy of Rehabilitative Medicine

(Vienna, 17 October 2019) Richard Crevenna, Head of MedUni Vienna's Department of Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation and Occupational Medicine, was appointed as a member of the European Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (EARM) at its meeting in Oslo.

The Academy was founded in 1969 and includes up to 50 senior doctors from this specialisation. New members are invited to join, based on their outstanding contribution to the specialisation, in particular its humanitarian aspects. The Academy's aim is to improve all areas of rehabilitation for the benefit of those who need it. In this way, it promotes education and research throughout Europe, by acting as a reference point on scientific, educational and research matters, exchanging ideas and information, facilitating exchanges of doctors of physical and rehabilitative medicine between countries and conducting moral and ethical debates.
The Academy's motto is: "Societatis vir origo ac finis", which translates as "Man is both the source and the goal of Society".

About Richard Crevenna
Richard Crevenna is a specialist in physical medicine and general rehabilitation and Head of MedUni Vienna's Department of Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation and Occupational Medicine. He is also an occupational and company doctor, geriatrician and interdisciplinary pain specialist. The main focus of his clinical and scientific work is the interdisciplinary and multi-professional treatment of functional disorders in cancer patients, as well as oncologic rehabilitation. For several years now, there has been a special outpatient clinic for oncological rehabilitation as well as a tumour board for oncological rehabilitation under the auspices of the Comprehensive Cancer Center, plus the "CCC-SMSCR" (Side effects-Management, Supportive Care & Rehabilitation) platform of the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) Vienna, as well as the Society for the Study of Oncological Rehabilitative Foundations (GEORG for short).
Since 2014, Crevenna has been Chairman of MedUni Vienna's Disability Advisory Committee. He is Senior President of the Austrian Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and President of GEORG and the Austrian Lymphatic League. He has been a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts since 2014.
