University Council postponed the decision
(Vienna, 29-04-2015) The election of the new rector by the University Council of MedUni Vienna, which was scheduled for yesterday, Tuesday (28 April), has been postponed due to the sudden illness and hospitalization of one of the Council members, Walter Dorner.
Standing for election are pharmacologist Harald Schmidt from Maastricht University, acting Vice-Rector for Research and Principal of the Pharmacology Department of MedUni Vienna, Markus Müller, and the Principal of the Neurology Department of MedUni Vienna, Eduard Auff. The new rector will take up office on 1 October 2015.
As yet, no new date has been set for electing the new rector.
