Research interests

My research interests encompass a variety of public health and health economic topics with a biggest focus on mental health disorders especially in the context of quality of life impacts. In the field of mental health services evaluation and outcome assessment, I have studied a novel capability approach for the evaluation of healthcare services in German speaking countries and assessed the costs of mental disorders in Austria. Furthermore, in the field of outcome assessment, my previous studies provided an overview of existing patient-reported outcome measures suitable for quality-of-life/wellbeing measurement in evaluations of healthcare interventions and proposed a framework for comparable assessment of health-related quality of life in multi-national studies. My research interest extends to the assessment of inequalities (e.g. due to socioeconomic status) in quality of life and capabilities on a population level and across countries. Currently, I am working on a project examining socioeconomic gradients in the use of healthcare services among patients suffering from long Covid-19.
