Research interests
Mag. Dr. Michaela Wagner-Menghin (PhD) works as an Associate Professor at the Medical University of Vienna, University Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Division for Social Psychiatry, where she specialises in the learning of medical and health profession students and in determinants of helping and help-seeking behaviour. With a focus on self-regulated learning of communication skills, Michaela earned a PhD from Maastricht University, concentrating on how students and supervisors use cues when self-judging or judging communication performance. Her work experience includes roles such as a researcher and lecturer in Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology (Vienna), and as a researcher in psychometrics in industry. Mag. Dr Wagner-Menghin is currently actively engaged in research on the influence of attitudes towards illness, treatment, and help-seeking or giving on students' behavioural intentions and behaviour when interacting with patients.
