Research interests

The main focus of my research is brown adipose tissue and energy metabolism with emphasis on brown adipose tissue imaging using 18F-FDG to better understand the physiology of human brown adipose tissue and its relevance for metabolic disease. Previous work included identification of novel molecular pathways related to energy metabolism with particular emphasis on brown fat, “browning of white fat”, and thermogenesis.
