An der Medizinischen Universität Wien ist am Zentrum für Medizinische Physik und Biomedizinische Technik mit der Kennzahl: 1648/23, voraussichtlich ab 12. April 2023 eine Stelle mit einem Beschäftigungsausmaß von 40 Wochenstunden mit einem:einer Assistent:in (postdoc) zu besetzen.

Das monatliche Mindestentgelt für diese Verwendung beträgt derzeit Euro 4.351,-- brutto (14x jährlich) und kann sich eventuell auf Basis der kollektivvertraglichen Vorschriften durch die Anrechnung tätigkeitsspezifischer Vorerfahrungen sowie sonstige mit den Besonderheiten des Arbeitsplatzes verbundene Entgeltsbestandteile erhöhen.

Das Arbeitsverhältnis als Ersatzkraft ist befristet für die Dauer der Abwesenheit eines:einer Mitarbeiter:in voraussichtlich bis 30. September 2024.

Anstellungserfordernisse: Abgeschlossenes Studium der Complexity Science, Systems Theory, Statistik, Computational Modeling, Mathematik, Physik mit facheinschlägigem Doktorat, Qualifikation in Forschung und Lehre. Die fremdenrechtlichen Anstellungserfordernisse bei Nicht-EU-Bürger:innen müssen gewährleistet sein.

                                                             PostDoc Scientist
                        at the Center for Medical Physics and Biomedical Imaging
                                           of the Medical University of Vienna,

We’re looking for an outstanding PostDoc Scientist to join our team in our research project focused on unraveling the intricate process of transitioning from health to disease and back again. Our goal is to integrate longitudinal data from various sources, including smart devices, mobile data, and total-body positron emission tomography (PET) images, using a complexity sciences and systems theory approach. We require an experienced specialist with expertise in these fields to contribute to our project.

This project will take place at the Center for Medical Physics and Biomedical Imaging (Quantitative Imaging and Medical Physics team), which is a multi-disciplinary research center and service provider at the Medical University of Vienna. The center employs over 50 full staff members and about the same number of Master and Graduate students. The main objectives to the center include the development of advanced technology and physical methods for medical diagnosis and therapy, the support of multi-disciplinary translational research and teaching activities within the curricula of the Medical University of Vienna.

Expected starting date:  as of April 12th 2023, until September 30th 2024.

Salary: Salary and terms of employment are according to the collective contract (Euro 4.351,--/14x per year).

Qualifications:

  • PhD in one of the relevant areas, such as complexity sciences, systems theory, statistics, or computational modeling, or related fields, like mathematics or physics
  • Strong programming skills
  • Expertise in complexity sciences and systems theory
  • Experience in working with biomedical signals and images
  • Detail-oriented and analytical
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
