With around 6.500 employees and 8.600 students, the Medical University of Vienna is one of the largest top-level biomedical research and teaching institutions in Europe. The Center of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering is looking for a part-time (20 hours per week) Senior Scientist (m/f/x) (with immediate effect). This is a contract for 12 months, with the possibility of permanent employment.

 

Your Tasks

  • Development and maintenance of software user-friendly applications and interfaces for the next generation of neuroprosthetic devices
  • Implementation of data science related techniques potentially including artificial intelligence approaches

Your Profile

  • Completed university master degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, C++, or similar), software architecture, and testing frameworks
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Experience in creating data processing pipelines and mobile applications (healthcare apps are a plus
  • Background in implementing secure coding practices, including encryption and memory safety
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • High degree of communication and team collaboration skills

At the Neuroengineering Lab, you will be able to work in real translational applications and improve the life of patients suffering from diabetes, stroke, spinal cord injury and chronic pain.

The minimum monthly salary for this position (Uni-KV, VerwGr. B1) is currently Euro 1.857,-- gross (14x per year) on a part-time basis and may be increased by taking into account relevant previous experience and other salary components related to the specificities of the job.
