Admission Requirements
Academic Qualification
Admission to the continuing education program requires proof of:
A completed bachelor’s degree or another completed degree of at least the same higher-education level from a recognized domestic or foreign post-secondary educational institution comprising at least 180 ECTS credits in one of the following disciplines:
- Human medicine
- Dentistry
- Psychology
- Nursing science
- Nutritional sciences
- Psychotherapy
- Social work
- Pharmacy
- Biology
- Health sciences / Health Studies
- Cultural and social anthropology
- Sociology
- Education / Social pedagogy
- Communication sciences
- Law
- Theology
Professional Experience
In addition, at least 2 years of relevant professional experience in employment of at least 20 hours per week in one or more of the following areas must be demonstrated:
- Employment as a physician,
- in higher-level healthcare and nursing services,
- in higher-level medical-technical services (MTD),
- in advanced medical-therapeutic-diagnostic health professions,
- in related healthcare professions (e.g. midwives)
- in social professions
In justified exceptional cases, persons may also be admitted who do not meet the above requirements, but who, on the basis of their professional activities, experience, and achievements, possess a comparable qualification and the general university entrance qualification; for this, the following requirements must be documented in an appropriate form:
- General university entrance qualification within the meaning of Section 64 UG, and
- at least 2 years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following
Areas
- in higher-level healthcare and nursing services
- in higher-level medical-technical services (MTD)
- in related healthcare professions (e.g. midwives)
- in social professions
“Relevant” refers to professional activities in which healthcare and/or risk management are the main focus.
Language Skills
German: Applicants must demonstrate the knowledge of German required for successful progress in the program at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, either through internationally recognized language certificates/diplomas or graduation certificates (e.g. a school-leaving certificate based on instruction in German, completion of a degree program in German), or as part of an assessment by the academic program leadership. Proof may be waived if German is the applicant’s first language.
English: Applicants must demonstrate the knowledge of English required for successful progress in the program at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, either through internationally recognized language certificates/diplomas or graduation certificates (e.g. a school-leaving certificate based on instruction in English, completion of a degree program in English), or as part of an assessment by the academic program leadership. Proof may be waived if English is the applicant’s first language.
Computer Skills
Computer skills are required that allow the smooth use of a teaching and learning platform as well as literature databases.

Assessment of Suitability
The academic program leadership assesses the suitability of applicants on the basis of the documents submitted and a personal interview.
Admission and Number of Participants
- Admission is only possible before the start of the continuing education program and within the admission deadlines.
- The maximum number of participants is determined by the academic program leadership based on pedagogical, organizational, and budgetary considerations.
Application and Decision
In accordance with Section 70 (1) in conjunction with Section 51 (2) item 22 UG, participants must apply for admission as non-degree students.
