The workload for the master's degree programme in Medical Informatics amounts to 120 ECTS credits. This corresponds to a foreseen study duration of 4 semesters as a full-time programme. ECTS credits are a measure of students’ workload. One academic year comprises 60 ECTS credits, with one ECTS credit corresponding to 25 working hours, pursuant to § 54 (2) of the Austrian Universities Act.
The Master's Programme in Medical Informatics comprises a total of four semesters and 120 ECTS points.
A majority of these hours consists of mandatory and elective modules and the chosen core subject combination. In addition, the students dedicate themselves to their thesis, which also needs to be defended orally.
Dependent on availability and approval, students can complete projects instead of some of the courses required by the curriculum.
