Katalin Karikó, the Hungarian-American biochemist awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2023, will visit the Medical University of Vienna on 19 May 2025. She will deliver a keynote lecture on the groundbreaking topic of mRNA research.

As someone deeply committed to mentoring young scientists, Katalin Karikó is particularly eager to engage with doctoral students and early career investigators. This is a unique opportunity for students to meet the Nobel laureate in person and discuss their research projects.
All students enrolled in the UN094 and UN790 programmes (PhD and doctorate) at MedUni Vienna are invited to apply for the exclusive Meet & Greet session. The event will take place at 11:00 am on 19 May 2025, with the location to be confirmed.
The selection of the students will be made in collaboration with Karikó’s team.
Please let us know what you would like to discuss with Katalin Karikó and why you would like to meet her.
